WBA Welcomes Three New Board Members

In December, Washington Bankers Association (WBA) announced the addition of three new members to the Board of Directors.

The Board establishes the policy agenda and is responsible for the prudent stewardship of the Association's fiscal resources and educational offerings. Bankers are nominated by their peers to serve on the Board and are selected from institutions diverse in size, type, and geographic location.

“We are grateful to be adding these three long-time bankers to our board,” said Jon Jones, WBA Board Chair and President & CEO of Washington Business Bank. “They bring with them a wealth of knowledge and experience that will help guide the Association in the years to come.”

Jennifer Williams, Consumer Banking and Investments Operational Excellence Executive with Bank of America joined the board in December. In her current role, she is responsible for evaluating all business processes for sales and operations and assesses opportunities for enhancements to improve the bank’s ability to prevent risk. Jennifer has been a key member of the bank’s initiatives to innovate the digital customer experience and to optimize customer interaction virtually and within the bank.

Ken Johnson, Executive Vice President of Operations at Banner Bank, joins the Board as the Chair of the WBA Professional Services Board of Directors. A longtime member of the WBA PROS Board, Johnson was previously the president and chief operating officer at Skagit Bank.

Clint Stein, who will assume the role of president & CEO at Columbia Bank on January 1, will join the board at that time. Stein was previously a member of the WBA PROS Board and possesses a wealth of experience as the former CFO and most recent, COO of Columbia Bank.

A senior spokesperson from Columbia Bank noted: “We are honored to have Clint Stein, incoming president, and chief executive officer of Columbia Bank, join the board of directors for the Washington Bankers Association.”

Members of the WBA Board serve three-year terms and officers are elected at the annual Convention, which will be held in June 2020 at Sunriver Resort.

Founded in 1889, the Washington Bankers Association is Washington State’s largest financial services trade association, representing banks of all sizes serving Washington residents and businesses.
