Serving the Communities in King, Kitsap, Island, and Snohomish Counties.
Crime Stoppers is a partnership between the public, the media, and law enforcement. Crime Stoppers of Puget Sound is one of 1,400 programs throughout the world that takes anonymous tips on un-solved felony crimes. All Crime Stopper programs are non-profit organizations. Crime Stoppers offers cash rewards to callers who furnish information, which leads to an arrest and charge.
Crime Stoppers helps law enforcement agencies by putting out information on their cases to the public and then asking them to call in tips on those cases. When tipsters call they are given a coded number and the Crime Stopper case number assigned. The tips are then forwarded to the law enforcement handling the case. If an arrest is made, based on a caller's information, a reward is paid (up to $1,000.00) by Crime Stoppers confidentially to the tipster through a local bank process. Only callers who relay information through Crime Stoppers are eligible for cash rewards. All calls are confidential and callers do not have to give their name.
Any Police Agency can ask Crime Stoppers for assistance with their case. Crime Stoppers gets additional leads for your case by letting the public know about the case either through radio, television, or newsprint media. Crime Stoppers can also prepare posters, at no charge, for wanted suspects. Crime Stoppers will also feature suspects and/or cases weekly as a "Crime of the Week" radio spot. All public announcements are free of charge to any police agency.
